Two 18-Hole Championship Courses

North Course (Rainer Preißmann, architect)
Rainer Preißmann has made it his aim to put into effect the idea of a landscape park in combination with the possiblities of strategic design. The original forms of the landscape, which have been used to restructure it, should be clearly recognisable.

The result is a golf course that is always a challenge for good players but that nevertheless still gives players with a relatively high handicap a fair chance to improve their play.

South Course (Robert Trent Jones jr., architect)
The philosophy of Robert Trent Jones jr. consists of making use of the natural structures of the terrain, combining them with the design of the golf course in order to create the feeling that the golf course has always been there.

"We work carefully in order to follow the natural movements of the land and not to build a sequence of holes contrary to the course of the terrain. In other words we constantly endeavour to create a golf course that fits harmonically into the natural contours of the landscape, by 'listening to the landscape'.

If we allow the landscape and Mother Nature to lead us we will always achieve an excellent result. The golf course should look natural and give us the feeling of forming a harmonic whole with the environment."

"A superb golf course should dispose over traditional values and strategies and be pleasing to the eye of the golfer. In Addition, it should test the ability of the golfer to carry out a variant of strokes and invite the player to make properly thought-out decisions as to how every specific hole should be tackled."
